Massive Muscle Building Smoothie Recipe

Massive muscle building smoothieToday’s post is mostly for the guys as it comes from a personal trainer friend of mine who is big into bodybuilding and muscle mass development. This is the smoothie recipe that he claims will aid you in developing massive muscles while trimming extra fat and it works like a dream for guys.

Just about any blender out there can handle making a basic protein shake, but if you want to add additional ingredients such as fresh fruits, veggies, and ice, then you will need to look for a quality blender that can handle those ingredients. Check out our top picks over here.

Massive muscle building smoothie

  • Two scoops GNC chocolate whey protein powder
  • 6 to 10 ice cubes.
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • One whole frozen banana

There are a few reasons that this actually works really well for muscle development. First and foremost, one key thing needs to be mentioned. He did state that you must use GNC protein powder as many other protein powders have way too much sugar and thus skyrocket your carbohydrate intake.

Something that I personally noted is that many of these protein powders do contain a significant amount of sugars and when you combine that with the sugar that’s already in the banana you drastically increase your intake of carbohydrates first thing in the morning and that’s going to reduce your fat burning abilities from your workout.

Second key thing to note with this recipe is that you want to peel your bananas before you freeze them as it will make things a lot easier for blending up your smoothies and save you a lot of hassle down the road. One person I gave this recipe to in the past actually made that mistake and called me early in the morning asking how to peel a frozen banana. If you’ve ever tried to do this, you can imagine his frustrations!

Also be certain that your bananas are yellow or yellow with hints of green when you peel and freeze them. Make sure that they haven’t started turning black, as when bananas turn black they develop more sugars and thus cause their carbohydrate count to spike even higher.

What makes this recipe work?

The potassium bananas contain is wonderful for muscle development, heart health, preventing muscle cramping, and preventing muscle spasms which will allow you to have a good burn during your workout and not suffer too much of the pain later on.

The amount of protein that this recipe contains will keep you feeling full, most of the morning well into the time for a midmorning early afternoon snack right before lunch. This will keep you from over eating, and going after high carb, low nutrient snacks later in the morning.

So if you are looking for a good muscle building recipe. This smoothie is certainly not going to disappoint.
